Jorden M. Susewitz
Susewitz Forest Consulting is a sole proprietorship and works as an individual. This gives me the ability to educate Michigan landowner's on a personal basis.
I graduated from the University of Maine at Fort Kent in the spring of 2008. My received degree is in forest technology. The University of Maine at Fort Kent has prepared me and has given me the ability to share my education to Michigan landowner's. During my studies at the university I became proficient in, forest inventory, GIS/GPS, harvest layouts, forest mensuration, forest products, forest regulations, operating logging operations, forest vegetation simulator (FVS), forest terminology and communication. The staff of UMFK has given me the ability to succeed and share my great experience.
After receiving my forest technology degree I was offered a job by the United States Forest Service. This position was located in Petersburg, AK, and apart of the Tongass National Forest. My job duties consisted of working with a crew of 7. Our main purpose was to put together a large tract of timber for a contract that the USFS would then offer to the local loggers. After 800 acres of intensive road layout, harvest boundary layout, and a inventory of the forest units was completed, I proceeded to come back to Michigan and fulfill my dreams. My dream has been to start my own consulting firm and help Michigan landowner's with the proper practice of sustainable forestry.
